Dear Friend,

Dear Friend,

Don't be afraid to fail. It hurts, it's so scary, and it's a hit to the ego. Trust me, I get it. I've had my fair share of days where I went to cry in my car because it looked like I was only belting out some Whitney. But no, those were tears behind my Chanels.

Remember that big job you applied for and you didn't get (an interview)? That's okay because you landed a spot with a company where you continued developing your already inspiring skills. Now look at you. Oh the places you'll go! And what about the time you were afraid to make that big move? Yeah, it was a little (a lot) messy, but look at how golden your life is now.

How many jobs do you think James Dyson applied for and wasn't considered? I certainly don't know the answer to this, but I do know that if he would have let his fear of failing keep him from trying again we wouldn't have the Dyson. And then how would I clean up after 3 chihuahuas?

Think about it, sweet friend. Even Beyonce had roadblocks, bumps, and call-it-like-you-see-it failures. Now look at her shining. I'd venture to say every person you admire has failed. More than once. Maybe not Anna Wintour, but everyone else has. Do you think you're better than Beyonce or Mr. Dyson?  Yeah, me neither. So now I want you to wipe off your face, make a list of what you want to do and then do the things on that list.

Will you fail at some of them? Probably. But I know you and your tenacity, and I know you'll keep trying until you rock it.  Remind yourself that failing big makes room for bigger champagne toasts. And I know how you love champagne.

You've got this!
