What's your legacy

It's a heavy moment, thinking about how you want to be remembered when you leave this life. But let's back it up a bit. How do you want to be remembered when you leave the room, or move on to a new project?

My legacy. I haven't put it into words yet, but when I do I'll post it here. I think of the incredible people who have influenced my life and steered me towards the course I'm on now... my heart beats harder with excitement and gratitude.

You never know how your actions are going to affect someone. Sure, there's a pretty solid notion that if you're kind people will be happy to be around you, and if you're unkind then you'll probably find yourself in a lonely life. The thing about legacies is they are built in several modest moments. Think of one person (only one) who left you feeling powerful after being in their presence. How can you be that for the next person you encounter?

I wonder whether my mom realized she was doing life-changing work 10 years ago, when she treated a high-schooler after a mountain climbing accident. Whether she realized it or not, she was. (And she continues to do so every day!) Today this article was sent to her, written two years ago, that illustrates just how powerful her legacy is. Her strength, kindness, and "tenaciousness" as Will perfectly describes, are evident in everything she does.

As I write my legacy, write yours. Live it. And post it here. Share your legacy through your actions and the work you create. We all thank you for it!
